What We're Loving This Week

MomMother's Day

Ahhh, mum. The woman who kissed our booboos and made everything better. The one who saved us from many a flu (I'm sure) by making sure we were always properly dressed for the elements and never ever ever left the house with a wet head. The one who was always waiting with a warm and loving hug when things weren't going quite as we expected. This is the Sunday we get to give something back and let her take the day off. Whether she's your mother or the mother of your children, say thank you by doing something nice for the special woman in your life. Mother's day (or Mothering Sunday) doesn't mean you have to spend loads on gifts or go for fancy meals. Show her you love her by doing something that she will find special. If you've paid attention, you should know what that is!

If you're out of ideas, we recommend the following Oxford activities:
  • High tea at The Old Parsonage
  • A walk through the Botanical Gardens
  • Drive out to Blenheim Palace and enjoy the Pleasure Gardens
  • Bike along the river and have a picnic at Christ Church Meadow
  • Attend the coffee concert at 11:15 or the Duke String Quartet recital at the Holywell Music Room at 3.00
  • Attend Misa Campesina Nicaraguense at 11.15 am - a special Mass sung each year to celebrate the link between the cities of Oxford and Leon in Nicaragua. Blackfriars, St. Giles. Free with collection.
