What's in the Cinema this Week? (Mar28 - Apr03)
The following films are coming out in Oxford this week:
Drillbit Taylor (12A) starring Owen Wilson, Alex Frost, Josh Peck, Valerie Tian, Troy Gentile, Cedric Yarbrough and David Dorfman. Owen Wilson is back as Drillbit Taylor, a low rent security guard-come-tinpot action hero who's at a loose end. When three high school kids find themselves being bullied on the first day of school, they resort to placing an ad in Soldier of Fortune magazine, and end up hiring Drillbit as their protector. The film is co-written by Seth Rogan, who scored a major hit last year with 'Superbad' and is produced by Judd Apatow, whose 'Knocked-Up' was arguably the comic find of 2007. This film is showing only at the Vue cinema.
On Wednesday 2 April, The Rolling Stones will be in London's West End for the UK premiere of the extraordinary film SHINE A LIGHT, in which OscarĀ®-winning director Martin Scorsese captures the biggest band in the world. Shine a Light puts you in the front row, lifts you up onto the stage, and takes you behind the scenes with an 'access all areas' backstage pass to the heart of The Rolling Stones. The premiere will be beamed live via satellite, allowing YOU to be a part of it... Share in the excitement, be part of the magic and take in the atmosphere of one of the year's most exclusive events. Showing at the Phoenix on Wednesday at 7.30 pm.
