Oxford Thai

' My boyfriend and I had tickets to see a show at the Zodiac and were looking to grab a quick bite beforehand. Almost directly across the street is Oxford Thai, an unassuming little Thai restaurant. The menu and the prices looked good, so we decided to give it a shot. The first thing we noticed were ashtrays on all the tables, and being non-smokers, that was a bit worrisome. But since it was mid-week and the restaurant wasn't too crowded, we took our chances. While waiting for our food, we were discussing the decor, and how it could use a bit of improvement. It was a little on the tacky side. Then our food arrived. Being pressed for time, we opted to skip the starters and get a main dish each. This proved to be more than enough food for the two of us, and our dinners were absolutely delicious. We were both happily surprised because I guess neither of us was expecting much (based on the decor). But as they say, you can't judge a book by its cover. The food was excellent, and very good value for money. The house wine wasn't too bad either, and is under £3 a glass. '
