What you need to know about getting connected to WiFi

To get connected, you are expected to have your own wireless-enabled laptop computer. If you don't have one, look for an internet cafe instead of a WiFi hotspot.

The mechanics of getting connected will vary from place to place. Often when your laptop recognizes the network at the establishment, your browser will automatically redirect you to a welcome screen explaining what you need to do to log on.

Most of the time you will have to pay for access, though occasionally you will get lucky and access will come free as long as you purchase something from the cafe/bar. In many cases, the welcome screen will direct you to enter your credit card details, but sometimes you will purchase a voucher from the establishment, and then you enter the voucher code. If you log on often at the same place, you may even want to buy credits in advance from the network provider.

The access speed will depend on where you are and how many other people are using the network. We have listed only places which have gotten good reviews for having good connections, but be wary if you see a lot of other people typing away at their laptops. You may want to choose a less crowded spot to start surfing.
