Oxford City Guide was started by me, Alissa Robinson, an American who moved to Oxford a few years ago with my family (from Australia, but that's a whole other story...). Frustrated by the lack of practical information I found before moving here, and then again when searching for things to do when visitors came, I decided to fill the information void myself and make it easy for all the tourists and new students who come to Oxford each year. After working on the guide for a while, I realised that it was being used by more locals than visitors, so I started adding more local listings, like for the cinema and a weekly gig guide for checking out live music. It's my hope that Oxford City Guide is considered a full service website - that for locals or visitors, whoever uses the guide will find what it is they are looking for, and then keep coming back!

I think that Oxford is an amazing city, and I never go anywhere without my camera. Each week I try to do or see something new, and I plan to share all my new-found information with you.
