Oxford Photography Festival

From the 14th of September to the 5th of October Oxford will be taken over by the inaugural Photography Oxford Festival! An exciting opportunity for any photography lovers and a great spectacle for anyone, the city will be overtaken by talks, films, exhibitions and workshops - ranging from a pop up drive in cinema near the Cowley mini plant to debates covering the issues facing photography today.
Across 20 venues exhibitions from the very greatest international photographers will be shown, including one exhibition "Custodians", which focuses on the Oxford colleges and the individuals behind the scenes who keep the colleges running.

An exhibition of the World Press Photo of the Year will also be shown, as well as The People's Project "Home", looking at the complexity and connotations behind the word Home.
Our favorite here at Cityguide definitely has to be the Drive-in cinema, showing classics from Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window" to the late Robin Williams' great film "One Hour Photo". Tickets are free and as a consequence are selling out fast! We recommend booking these as soon as possible.

For more information on the festival and on tickets to events please check out the Photography Oxford Website: http://www.photographyoxford.co.uk/index2.html
