Open Weekend at Waterperry Gardens
Enjoy a bracing winter day out with our Open Weekend. Therell be free tours of the ornamental gardens, nurseries, orchards and saxifrage garden. (See website for tour times) Our Open Weekend gives visitors access to areas that are normally out of bounds and the chance to quiz Waterperry experts on all aspects of our work. Bacon butty breakfasts available in the teashop from 9.30am and hot food, including mulled apple juice tastings is available between 12 and 3pm. African Singing Workshop with Lucky Moyo
Rising Voices community choir are proud to be hosting a workshop for renowned performer and teacher Lucky Moyo. As well as being an inspirational workshop leader, Lucky is an arts practitioner, an arts lobbyist, event manager, producer, director, singer, songwriter and voice coach. He is a former member of the world-renowned South African group the Black Umfolosi and now performs regularly with the Uzambezi, a UK-based performance group specialising in South African music and dance. The past 18 years have seen Lucky being called on to visit 30 countries around the world to perform to audiences varying in capacity between 10 and 50,000! He has shared stages with the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Peter Gabriel, Naughty by Nature and performed for such dignitaries as Nelson Mandela and HM Queen Elizabeth II. Lucky is a firm believer in the role of music beyond just entertainment. He passionately argues for music as a vehicle/medium for change, communication, dialogue, healing and problem solving. £5 / £3.50 concessions
