I've never been to Prezzo before, and this week I was enjoying the Oxford Christmas Market at Oxford Castle, so chose it as a convenient place to have dinner with a friend. After a busy week of many restaurant meals, I was relieved to see Prezzo had a light, low-calorie section of their menu.

My friend and I both chose flatbread pizzas to share from the Light Options section - I ordered Goat's Cheese With grilled courgettes, semi dried tomatoes, tomato sauce and my friend ordered Mushroom And Spinach With mozzarella and tomato. They both came with a small mixed salad of roasted peppers, marinated olives, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, mixed leaves and a low calorie Italian dressing.

I'm glad my friend and I were sharing because I would probably have been slightly disappointed with my pizza if that's all I had. I didn't realise the pizza wouldn't have mozzarella, even though it wasn't mentioned in the description. There was very little goat's cheese, so it felt very sparse and plain. But I loved my friend's mushroom and spinach pizza, and would gladly order that again. I was afraid the dinner would leave me a bit hungry (i'm greedy sometimes), but I was pleasantly full afterwards.

I'm not sure it's entirely fair to judge a restaurant by its light option menu, but I got exactly what I was looking for - a decent meal that wouldn't leave me feeling guilty.

As for atmosphere, the restaurant is fine. Not great, not bad, just fine. Unfortunately for us, there was a large party dining at the same time as us and it was very loud.
